Sarirendriya Satvatma Samyoga
Ayurveda conceives in Life (Ayu) as a four dimensional entity i.e. Sarirendriya Satvatma Samyoga
The meaning of the word “Ayurveda” is self explanatory (Ayu = Life, Veda = Science). Life has been
described as the complex combination of Body (Sarira), Senses (Indriyas), Mind (Sattva) and Soul
(Atma)1. Anything that interferes with life (Ayu) can have an access to any one of these four and
hence the treatment differs accordingly.

Ayurveda
Ayurveda, or ayurvedic medicine, is a healthy-lifestyle system that people in India have used for
more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda emphasizes good health and prevention and treatment of illness
through
lifestyle practices (such as massage, meditation, yoga, and dietary changes) and the use of herbal
remedies.
It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind,
body, and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health, not fight disease. But treatments may be
geared toward specific health problems.
Those who practice Ayurveda believe every person is made of five basic elements found in the
universe: space, air, fire, water, and earth.
These combine in the human body to form three life forces or energies, called doshas. They control
how your body works. They are Vata dosha (space and air); Pitta dosha (fire and water); and Kapha
dosha (water and earth).
Everyone inherits a unique mix of the three doshas. But one is usually stronger than the others.
Each one controls a different body function. It’s believed that your chances of getting sick -- and
the health issues you develop -- are linked to the balance of your doshas
Ayurveda works by assessing everyody on an individual level, according to their biological
constitution(Prakriti) and disease state(Vikriti).
It recognises three biological humors of Vata, the Wind humor (composed of Ether and Air), Pitta, the
Bile humor (composed of Fire and Water) and Kapha, the phlegm humor (composed of Water and Earth)
Ayurveda follows ge doctrine of Ahimsa(Non-violence) and hce promotes a Vegetarian diet, seeing meat
sustances as harmful to the mind and more likely to cause Ama(toxins) in the body
